600-700 million cdma devices annually - per Rich Sulpizio's presentation at the S.G. Cowen COnference (3/28/01).

Marty, you are correct, there is very little understanding nor is their much work being done by analyst regarding the future earnings potential of QCOM.

Your assumptions of the various growth opportunities beyond wireless phone service makes QCOM one of the best investments available to anyone with a time horizon beyond their nose.

During R Sulpizio's presentation he mentioned that today there are 500 million phones sold world wide and 80% of those are GSM. He then said that imagine in a few years when there are 600 to 700 million devices sold each year and they are all cdma. No one picked up on this statement because very few really understand how the numbers can add up so fast or where the services will come from.

If there was ever a great company selling at a low single digit, forward PE ratio, qcom is that company. FWIW
Thanks
Web.

<BTW, I was in Jamaica last week. I take full credit for the NAZ being up 4 days in a row, QCOM's up move, and the release of the US crew. Used my G* phone for the first time too, though I think it is time to cancel a service I never use.>

Marty, in your 'wow, look what Q! will do' comments, you didn't include Globalstar specifically though it will be one of the big parts of Q! by 2010.

One day, you will want to make a call on your Globalstar phone and you will be VERY glad you have it. You can put the account on hold so they aren't eating you with their stupid monthly fee. Better still they should simply charge for what you use and charge no monthly fee.
