Do you think it's skewed a little by the way mufus are set up and the sheer size of their assets under management these days as opposed to the last bears, say 1981 and 1973-74? It is my understanding that they have to keep a certain portion invested and they can't short. There are a lot of retirement assets in mufus where there is no easy way for the person to switch to a bond or mm account without doing a transfer, plus they have these accounts set up for regular contributions regardless of the market. Most of the individuals I've talked to are depressed about the market but they are sure it's too late for them to get out. Most don't even want to talk about it.

they should be at the highs IF the mkt were still in a bull like in 98. that's the great error. thinking the mkt only rides on one track. I think she's switched to the southbound train/track and everyone still thinks it's going north. oh noooooo! VERTIGO!!!
