I think the so-called big fight may be a financial one, and the recent offer of 150% vendor financing is the opening salvo. Put another way, Nokia will pay very large amounts of money or make other offers the service providers can't afford to refuse, no matter what. This may work in Europe for awhile, but in places where GSM faces competition from CDMA, the GSM service providers will be forced to come round to CDMA2000 or else risk losing profits.
