Could it be that the 3" 4H wafers are the SiC precursors of the RF power devices that Spectrain is required to purchase. AKA to the SIC gemstone material C&C was required to purchase. As you can see I am slightly skeptical of the whole situation. Same old, same old. Be skeptical, it's a free country. Unclear why you post here. For instance, I am skeptical of Lucents business acumen, have no position in the company, and make no posts on Lucent threads, don't even read them. Too much time on your hands, John?
