Energyplay,

I just finished income tax filing which included royalties from owning HGT for four months last year. HGT sends you a very straight forward go-by to do you taxes. After expenses, administration and depreciation I paid about 9% (vs 31%) income tax on my distributions, I netted about 13% return. Even got a small tax credit. All in all its a good safe place to put cash. The only down side that I can see is the possibility that gas will go back to $2. that's a downside I can live with for awhile longer.
