Haim,
I understand how a $3.4 billion dollar asset write off might look. But in the American way it is only $0.47( 47 cents) a share. Not even enough to buy a loaf of bread.

Haim, you do not even allow for the fact that chip prices are dropping like there is no bottom and the supply exceeds demand by a huge factor in the net equipment industry.
CSCO is sitting on huge piles of chips and equipment. Moores Law is a factor here.

I don't know if you are close to the business world, but many in my backyard echoed Chambers' remarks in December - it was like someone turned off a light (and this is in the durable goods industry, not high-tech). Nobody had any foreknowledge this was going to happen to them. It was like being hit in the head by a 2 x 4.

I think the fact that CSCO was growing at a rate that exceeded their logistical ability to control it is as good an explanation as you need. If CSCO screws up, it is poor business, not fraud, IMO.

Furthermore, you will not have to go to Tel Aviv to find John Chambers hiding from the law. Comparing CSCO with Crazy Eddie is not even in the realm of possibility.

I don't think you were feeling this way last year when they surprised positively or updated their forecasts positively. It happens both ways.

By the way, I'm not sure where Antar's parents were from, but it seems you are insinuating that he was discriminated against because his parents were possibly Russian, German, or Polish in ethnicity.
