Who cares! Each person gets 6 months of paycheck for doing nothing. It is a fantastic deal, almost like socialism.

Execs? Are you kidding? The ones that will get axed are the people at the bottom who do the actual work. Companies need execs to steer the company and strategize about the future. Nevermind that they cut the workforce who actually implements those strategies. :) I'd like to hear that they are cutting the pyramid from top to bottom. A large portion of the folks they hired in the last 2 years were managers anyway. There's a lot of dead weight that needs to be culled. The people that are still crucial to Cisco's success are the implementation people and the firstline managers. I say get rid of the bottom 50% senior managers and maybe some directors of losing departments. In other words, cut the dead weight.
