"Educating the masses will only serve to insure that more of these janitors and burger pushers are well educated." It's just this sort of cavalier "screw them" attitude which has kept so many of our children locked in cycles of ignorance. Lack of education effects a lot more than just what job you have. Education gives you hope, allows you to understand the world around you, and opens up windows of opportunities. Everyone in society pays a price for an ignorant adult who cannot read or write.
