Boolish, my wife was doing my taxes up until last year. However, she packed it in for the exact time consuming reason you mentioned. I advise hiring a good accountant...was well worth my while and didn't cost squat! All the best!

Check with your broker Boolish. You might be able to obtain a file with all of your transactions that you can just import into tax filing software. I had over 500 transactions last year and E*Trade provides me with a file that I just imported into Turbo Tax. Imagine how long it would have taken to write all that down....took me a few minutes with the file import.
