I hope you are right. As YB said, "It ain't over 'till it's over". And it's early in the process of the market digesting and evaluating the CSCO news. I suspect that the bottom in CSCO (at least) may not be in. Right now you have the market buying the (bad) news, after selling the (bad) rumor.

You could be right on about Cisco. It may not have bottomed. The warning was much worse than expected (due to the inventory writedown).
My point was that can Intel be any worse than Cisco? Not a chance. Therefore, the market may be more forgiving of bad news from Intel and the market IS expecting it. It is only if they do a Cisco type of warning that is much worse than expected, would Intel drop afterwards, IMHO. The important differences in the nature of their respective businesses also helps. Networkers' environment is much worse than the PC sector.

We could some good news from the remaining blue chip techs, IBM and MSFT and they should be pretty good. Better to get the worries out of the way early this week (csco and intel).
People will focus more on the good news in this environment and our first dose of that should start with IBM tomorrow, followed by MSFT on Thursday.

Microsoft earnings report is going to be pretty good for this kind economic environment.
The bigger the price cut in chips, the more Windows copies being sold...with certain expections (for example price cuts do nothing for demand)

Best of Luck

BTW-- i a looking to add Intel and AMD today and tomorrow--averaging my cost.
