Hi Rob S,

If you look at the OFDM Forum, you will find the first presentation given Dec 2, 1999 was a history of OFDM that dated back to MIT more than thirty years ago.

As you say, silicon technology has allowed deployment of billions of operations per second processors that can decode the reflections in multipath.

Exciting outdoor trials are underway, and this Summer should reveal whether BBFW will need 6x the number of PCS cell sites or 2x or 1x for equal coverage to 3G ;-)
