As high school chemistry student can explain a simple matter of electovalence it make order of magnitude of sense to me. Gee lets look at the air we breath. Nitrogen and oxygen and h2O. All pretty harmless. But lets play with the elecrovalence and voila HNO3. I'd suggest you avoid breathing fuming nitric acid. On the other hand let's have a laugh with N2O.
