Here's my take on this.

csco's charges this quarter more then wipe out the years earnings. For the year they will like report an actual loss.

30% decline in revenue. 10% decline expected next quarter.

even if they grow from that new level at 30% it will take a year and a half just to get back to the revenue they had last year....that's some growth stock!

proforma estimates have been lowered for next year to 28 cents. at $16-17 that puts the "proforma p/e" over 50 and likely around 60 for next year. Actual earnings? no one wants to talk about them as usual.

This stock is dead money and I will stick with my call that it will be very very lucky to be $10 in 2010.

That 30%-50% growth target was said to be expected in countries with strong economys and good gdp growth...since those countries don't exist and won't for some time...I guess you can for get that.

Chambers hype call as just that...pure garbage and hype. He should have just said, "If only we can get a dot.com mania going again and everyone will continue to give telco's billions to burn, I'm sure we could grow at 30%-50% again".

The fact is that this is the same guy that said last year that they will grow at 30%-50% a year for the next 5 years no matter what! He doesn't have a clue about macro issues. He is as out of touch as greenspan. Listening to that call and talk of future guidance reminds me of Greenspan talking about a government surplus that doesn't exist and how we are going to have the debt paid off by 2006. Pure garbage.

Anyhow....enjoy the jam job.

You don't have to believe Cisco, just look at the Internet!

The simple fact is the Internet is growing faster than 50%. It was this way last year and many years before that. Around the world that is still true.

If people don't want to believe that then they can buy in other areas...it's that simple. It's their choice.

The Dot Coms are only a fraction of what the Internet is and does.
