You are misquoting me. I never said there was a radical disjunction between reality and our minds and I double dog dare you to ever find me saying such a thing.

What X really said (sigh, and again sigh) was that we can't know how well our concept of reality matches up with "objective" reality even if such a thing exists. Why? Well mostly because we are personal beings limited in our bodies and we can't get out of them to observe just how subjective we are. It is possible one person on Earth has a perfect conception of what "objective" reality is (if it exists) but who is that person? We all have different conceptions- as can be clearly seen from this board. My conception cannot be described in any of the terms you use to talk about your conception- it is just REALLY different. Now we could be experiencing the same thing, but our bodies are making you interpret it one way and me another, or you could be experiencing a completely different reality than I am. How could we know, unless we could switch bodies and minds?

I already said exactly what you have said several times. That we use the "reality" we experience in a practical way. But perhaps you did not realize we were saying the same thing. It is unnecessary to be sure of ultimate truth in order to go on with living with practical truths.
