I'd think the breakout attempt...if it were to happen...should've happened this morning.......

We are getting sucked into Intel orb here....who wants to bet (market going up?) on that result (yet)...

Having said this, I'll let the market decide....if it can rally hard up into late afternoon....and hold...then that will be impressive.....

I think, though, there is going to be pressure to sell this aft...ahead of Intel

"Despite remarks to the contrary, this morning's run was NOT just the action of Ameritraders."

Not unless they were holding the futures up.

Good post.

I am getting PM's from people saying "Wow, how fast did you turn around." Nonsense.

All I said this morning was that we have a new scenario that has raised its bullish little head. I did not buy it, have not yet, and may not ever. I am simply aware of a new possibility that makes me more hesitant to short. We are in a range on tech and I leave it to the heroes to make big bets as to which way it breaks.

BC, I don't think we've had near the sort of correction that the huggers are looking for. Not deep enough. About your other point, yes, a high that is anything other than marginal would be a surprise to a lot of them. It would catch them with their shorts up, solidify bullish sentiment, and, as you say, set up for a better down.

It's a great time to be in Earlie's weeds...

Excellent post, bobcor. Would like Grace's opinion on this quote:

"Despite remarks to the contrary, this morning's run was NOT just the action of Ameritraders. In fact, I expect the data to show that they
were not overwhelmingly buyers today. I continue to detect the smell of burning mufu Clownbux. Judging from the Trimtabs numbers, a
lot of sideline sitters were pushed into stock funds for fear of missing out on the bottom. That money has to be burned before we get any
down. "

I didn't look at Trimtabs but I was stressing the same point from a different angle.
You can see which way the Funds and Houses are leaning, and they are either fawning bullishness or they are for real. It's all based on TA because fundamentals suck.

Also, the fact that inflation hasn't appeared despite the money pumping from the Fed is pretty weird. It gives them latitude to print more. Not a good thing IMO.
