But you aren't really. I know you. You are fooling me. Some people are really really sure about God. They would kill themselves for their Gods (all sorts of different Gods, which really interests me). I don't think you would kill yourself for the nation in your hand (and I apologize in advance for dissing your belief).

I know what you mean. And if you want to call yourself an atheist that's ok with me. But I can't. I just don't feel I am an atheist. I doubt everything. I really do. Other people, myself, reality (and who knows what THAT is anyway?). But I do not assert there is some huge disconnect Neo. I assert we just can't know. And that's fine with me. It doesn't make life meaningless for me. It doesn't make the universe sterile. It doesn't render ethics and values unimportant to me. If my kind of framework would do any of those things to you, it's probably a very good thing we disagree. Wouldn't want to see anyone live a meaningless existence in a sterile universe with no ethics or values.
