Well, I hope your mellow attitude doesn't encourage them to try to get away with forcing stuff down your throat. Look at the Global Gag Rule. The "gag rule" may be good or bad, what it is not is forcing something down anyone's throat. It is a decision not to give money to groups that do certain things. Maybe groups who do those things should get money from the federal government, maybe they should not, but refusing to give them money is not an attack against them or a restriction on their liberty.
