DMA,

re: Scumbria's amalgam claims.

I doubt they are harmful due to some "claimed" mercury vapors probably at levels lower than the air in L.A.

However, my dentist recommended my fillings be replaced due to age with some new "plastics" which are the same color as your natural teeth and don't cause cracks in ones enamel like amalgam has a tendency to do over time.

DMA I see not problems with your position. I don't know if I know enough to not allow mercury ever, but I don't think any have the choice in America anyway. No dentist wants to fight environmental wishing theory.
But if I were in some other country and had a tooth problem well I would be scared witless but not because I might get mercury in my fillings.

I say exercise, a good diet, and brushing you teeth and saying your prayers will be 1 million times more beneficial to the length and quality of ones life than worrying about what's in the fillings in your teeth.

I don't see the point in sweating the small stuff.
