<it is possible to trade Canadian stocks through them on-line>

I gone around and around on this with them, and in the end came up empty. I've entered various symbols on line in the standard Waterhouse account and it won't accept. I've been told US citizens have to enter orders at the Canadian desk by phone. If you actually execute a trade on line let me know.

try penntrade. Small company but you can trade CDN on line no phone calls.

If I understand all of your posts correctly you are trading CDN stock in US $. This is where the US investor gets the winnie. The exchange rate. You end up buying slightly higher and selling slightly lower than your CDN counterpart. Once this is understood then ok. Always use limit orders as well!

Commish is 29.95 US. I have had good results. But anyone who says trading CDN stocks is similar to US or hassle free does not have all their oars in the water. I have tried at least 3 different brokers. Penntrade is the best so far.
