I've been taken back by it for 5 months.
I've also been astounded by AMDs horsie screwups and lack of an SMP chipset. Maybe the Athlon was just "luck" like Paul said and now it's screwups as usual for AMD.


I don't think the fact that Intel's ahead on process technology should be taken as an AMD "screwup." Intel beat them to 0.18 micron by about the same margin. *shrug* If AMD comes out with 0.13 in six months, then they have successfully executed a normal development cycle.

Intel's process technology has more than once pulled Intel through tough times...

Now, as to the horsies and SMP... You may have a point there. Of course, given the choice of horse breeds and types espoused by AMD for their chips, I'm not surprised they've had issues...
