Yes, a directionless market will whip the impatient and the clowns all at once. In some sense, I believe that a market does whatever it has to to get the job done, sort of like an organism.

Thanks for sharing so candidly. I expect that the next hearty down-leg, whenever that comes, will really hit the bulls hard and we can finally enter that stage of the bear where folks really believe in it. This of course, will also allow for the sentiment necessary to have a multi-month rally/sideways period.

Clappy, I think that you are not a J6P. You're a J12P.-g At least you are taking this seriously and know a little more than the average joe about what's at stake. We are a long ways yet from the real J6P giving up on stocks.

Cheers

>>How can it be?
This is not just a lowered expectations warning.
This is Cisco saying that they never even designed a strategy or model that indicated such a sharp drop in orders.
They don't know how to deal with it. Caught with their pants down...
And they can't tell when things are going to improve.
This can't just be CSCO specific.<<

Excellent points. I don't have an answer except to say that I don't think anyone has repealed the law of gravity, and my guess is that Wile E. Coyote has run off the cliff but hasn't looked down yet.

Not that you asked me.-g-

Nice post cg, I also think there will be a lot of broke bears before the whole thing implodes as well.

Clappy...good to hear your "hitting the books". Every investor, even Warren Buffet, was "Joe 6 pack" at some point along the way. Education is a lifelong process. If you want any book recos, just ask.

To take a quote from a favorite movie, "Knowledge is good"
(Anyone wanna guess what movie that's from?)<G>
