Why can't AMD be on .13u at about the same time as Intel?
Isn't the equipment available?

It isn't a question of equipment so much as it is a question of developing and integrating a manufacturing process. Equipment doesn't make a stable process. It takes time to iron out process interactions between the various modules and sometimes projected performance doesn't equal real performance, and segments of the process must be reworked. You don't just drop a silicon wafer in a series of tools and get a functioning, state-of-the art microprocessor... process development is a tough job.

Intel has the best. No question. Not sure about the tough times. Intel could just deliver he goods in a rising market.

I think Intel's inability to delivery in 99 and early 2000 was a case of not putting enough capacity in place to meet demand... which is the reason Intel has indicated many times that they're still going to spend $7.5MM on CapEx this year.

You're saying AMD bit off too much with the Mustang or Palomino? How so?

Mustangs are okay... a bit blocky by and large... they've lost too much of their Spanish underpinnings when compared to the South American varieties. A Palomino is a type rather than a breed... Morgans are nice... their one bright moment... but Appaloosa!?!?!? *shakes head*

Used to own one.

Not anymore? What happened??? (OT) I've got two grays at this point... one mare, one gelding.
