I agree, but Bush will stone-wall alt and cleaner fuels as much as possible so all that can be hoped for is compromise until we get a new administration and/or congress. Gore and Nader together had the clear majority and it was a much greener majority, but Bush got in and he picked Cheney, the CEO of a major oil company who has one of the worst environmental voting records in history when he was in congress. Their main supporters are also oil/power/ coal/nukes/pesticides lobby etc. Don't expect them to help unless they're highly pressured and made to worry they'll lose the soccer mom swing voters. For some reason American men don't seem to care about the environment as much as woman, as if it's macho to like to pollute. I think it's criminal and women are smarter in this sense. And being greener should be part of the word CONSERVATIVE (=conservation). Don't waste or kill the Golden Goose. Conserve it. Then I'd be a conservative since I'm already fiscally conservative.
