I disagree. Fleck made the point (middle of last year) that bear market rallies occur despite bad news. Once the news piles up to a critical point (usually about the time all the speculators have piled in and the shorts have covered), everything collapses. That certainly proved true in October...remember the miracle post INTC warning rally on Friday October 20th? It lasted a few days, got us through expiry. Then NT and some others warned and the markets proceeded to melt all the way into December afterwards:
