Well, anyway. If you are interested in getting back on a bike I can highly recommend recumbents for both comfort and safety.

comfort is obvious: THE SEAT ;)

Safety: lower center of gravity makes them more stable. Cars don't speed by, they slow down to check out the bike. And, last but not least, you are looking forward with no strain on your neck/shoulders/hands.

Bents have better aerodynamics then upright bikes as well. Just a better way to ride, IMO.
