Oh, please. And of course women often say "I lost the baby," even in an early miscarriage, but they mean, believe me, that they feel the loss of the baby they hoped to have, not that a cell cluster is an actual infant. Unless of course they're delusional primitives. That is why so few women whose periods are late and who realize they are having a spontaneous abortion when they finally menstruate call a priest or have a funeral. They may be sad or may be glad that that fertilized egg won't ever become a baby, and if they have fertility problems they may be brokenhearted, but they stick in a tampon and go to work, dude. Sentimentality is not intellection, Christopher, and it doesn't transform one entity into another. Stop that.
