Depends on which "Itanium" you're talking about. As these Unisys boxes weren't supposed to go on sale until next year, it "may not be your father's Itanium."

If the article refers to (Merced) Itanium... you're spot on... If the article refers to (McKinley) Itanium, then it's actually very good news for Intel...

Considering what you were expecting, I'd say any release of Merced this quarter beats your expectations.

I'm also positive that Merced performance will beat your expectations as well, considering you think Merced can't perform any better than a Pentium at 75 MHz.

Of course, you could always "shift" your expectations just so you can continue your strawman rants ...
