Calico says to restate 2000 Q1 and Q2 revenue figures

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 23 (Reuters) - Software maker Calico Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq:CLIC - news) said on Wednesday it will restate its fiscal 2000 first- and second-quarter financial results, citing transactions reported as revenue that were ``negotiated by individuals no longer employed by the company.'' *)

Calico said its reported revenues for the first-quarter will be reduced by $1.5 million to $2 million, and its second quarter revenues will be reduced by $1 million to $1.5 million. The net loss for Calico in those periods will be increased by those amounts, the company said.

It said it will file amended reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission once its internal audit is completed.

*) Is that really the problem?
Does that mean, every company has to restate revenues when certain employees jump ship? Jeeesus, jeesus!
