I don't think that's the case at all. If I were out paddling my kayak and some dude came strolling across the waves and said "hi, I'm God, let's talk about it" I might not believe instantly, but I would certainly have to reconsider some things and adjust the frame of reference.

I think the stunt that God allegedly pulled with Paul would do the job quite nicely. If He can do it for Paul, He can do it for me. Since he doesn't, either He doesn't exist or He doesn't care enough about my belief to bother. Either way, what cause have I to believe?

Since I have yet to see any credible reason, I don't think it's fair to speculate on what I might do in the presence of a credible reason.
