Ackkk you're going to poison Arthur with coconut...
Look what Mr. Cow sent me...now I have to e-mail everyone I sent an e-mail to telling them it is a hoax...great, and I thought I was doing a good thing.

Pictures of Family Virus
I have been receiving more and more inquiries on a virus warning with the title "Another Email Virus to Watch For". Inside the writer states that any email with an attachment of "New Pictures of Family" should be deleted at once.

Of course, the most of you have probably received an email at one time or another with some variation of this title in it. That's why this HOAX works pretty well. In fact, it is the only creative thing about this message. The rest of the virus warning was copied for another virus hoax: The Pretty Park and Internet Flower for You Warning. Pretty Park is a real virus, but the warning is bogus since it doesn't do any of those things stated in the email message.

This one which began circulating in early 2001, "borrowed" one of the exact messages already circulating for the above hoax. None of the Anti-Virus Sites I contacted knew anything about this "virus". It has all the classic markings of a hoax. For instance, Intel doesn'tannounce or even keep track of virus hoaxes. Notice how urgent the message sounds which is another classic sign. As if randomly forwarding something around the Internet was far more effective than publishing it on CNN.

This can be ignored. Delete the warning and forget about it. (Updated 2/21/01)

Subject: WARNING: Another e-mail virus to watch for

Another E Mail Virus to Watch for: "Picture of Family"

The world must have lots of sick and/or
bored people with nothing better to
do than create more and more email
viruses!
DO NOT OPEN "NEW PICTURES OF FAMILY."
It is a virus that will erase your whole "C" drive. It will
come to you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person.

I repeat... a friend sent it to me but called warned me before opened it.
He was not so lucky and now he can't even start
his computer!

Forward this to everyone in your address
book. I would rather receive this 25 times than not at all.

Also: Intel announced that a new and very
destructive virus was recently discovered. If you receive an email
called "FAMILY PICTURES," do not open it.

Delete it right away! This virus removes all dynamic link libraries (.all files)
from your computer. Your computer will not be able to boot up.
