Wow....thanks, Richard. Coming in so late like this, and knowing absolutely nothing about the context of his post, I can tell you absolutely that there are legal rags out there that write very, very similar "gossip" about the big law firms. The style is not far from what Carl wrote and the "inside" scoop of peeking over the transom at the big "fees" a-coming is all too familiar. In reading that piece for the first time, it really spooked me. It could have been real, even though a reader should probably doubt it at some level. Still, to quote a fictitious ABA website....and not point out the parody in the text itself......I hope Carl gets a good lawyer. He can call me for a referral if he wants. That thing was really bad, bad, judgement.
