My guess would be that McKinley completely cannibalizes Itanium (Merced), starting late next year

No matter how you cut it, Intel will soon have a staggering amount of capacity on line. Fab22 in Chandler Az will come on line later this year. Even before it's move to 300mm, it will have far more capacity than it's neighbor Fab12 (due to .13u process) which already produces way over 1 million CuMines a week. The extension to Fab11 in New Mexico (already the largest semiconductor factory on earth) will be comparable in size. Fab17 in Hudson Mass adds more. Colorado Springs Colo adds Flash capacity. What will fill these Fabs?
