isopatch, Distributed generation is moving forward rapidly. I work on projects deploying about 220 MW of capacity right now. Fuel cells are the next logical step- Fingers crossed that economics continue to improve, although don't take that wrong- fuel cells are already economic in a number of applications! I just think that DG applications are spawning a wide range and variety of uses for fuel cells. I was at the 5th Annual DG Conference in New Orleans about two weeks ago. There are a number of manufacturers who are advancing fuel cell technology....

P.S. My GGF om Mom's side was just a farm boy and then after the war, a farmer. His Unit garrisoned Baton Rouge until October 1865 and then he was discharged from duty. He returned to western Iowa and found it "too crowded". So he crossed the Missouri River into the Nebraska Territory and homesteaded along the Platte River in Spring 1866....The original homestead built in 1866-67 is still there....

My GGF on Dad's side his Unit disbanded in February 1865 as "understrength" went back to Warrenton, Missouri in and resumed duties as the Sheriff even though he was missing one leg....
