2 more companies converting to O&G royalty trusts, do not seem as good as Search (SGY), however took a small position in BON last week, have a medium position in SGY(intending to go large over the next 30-45 days), any comments on any or all of these 3 companies? Thanks..
IMHO, SGY is more conservative and mostly NGas, I think any surprises with SGY will be positive, like I said only my opinion, Scott

Bonterra, Comstate discuss possible merger of trusts

Wednesday Apr 18 2001 News Release
Also Comstate Resources Ltd (CSR)

Mr. George Fink reports
The board of directors of Bonterra and Comstate Resources Ltd. have agreed that after the establishment of their respective royalty income trusts, both Bonterra and Comstate will obtain opinions to determine whether there are sufficient benefits to combine the two income trusts. Bonterra issued a press release as reported in Stockwatch March 15, 2001, advising that it will be seeking shareholder approval to change its status from a corporation to an income trust.
Bonterra and Comstate have common boards of directors and common officers. Comstate also is the management company for Bonterra, and the two companies have similar and closely positioned producing properties in the Pembina area of Alberta (both companies' major area of production), and share pipeline and processing facilities.
Although both Bonterra and Comstate, as separate income trusts, will on their own have lower management and administration costs than most other trusts, the costs will be even lower if a merger is completed. A larger trust compared with two smaller trusts should also create better opportunities for associations with other oil and gas companies or trusts. Bonterra and Comstate will be asking their respective shareholders to vote for the formation of their own trusts in June, 2001. If approved it is anticipated that the two trusts will be commencing with merger opinions in the fall of 2001.
