I knew that's what you really meant. <g> Expecting proof (or offering proof, for that matter) is just plain silly. This is, after all, a belief system we're talking about.

Would you settle for the same level of proof you accept in, say, believing (assuming you do) that Julius Caesar was an actual person? After all, all you have to go on in both cases are ancient records, statements of person who claim to have met and talked with the person or deity, claimed artefacts, etc. In fact, there is lots more anecdotal evidence for the existence of God than of Caesar. And a LOT more people claim to have seen God than claim to have seen black holes.
