KJ: I think we are really agree on everything, after both of us clarify, see my previous post on FC LIPs. Even when I mentioned 24 x 7, I am talking about an application must run 24 x 7, not every component. Obviously if you are Dell, it is OK to take a web server down for maintenance, but NOT ok to take their web server APPLICATION down for a 2-hour window. However, I am sure you will agree that the storage component has much higher constraints for 24 x 7 availability than does a computer.
