r-01 09:52 ET Sector Watch: Semiconductor : -- Technical -- SOX index surges past the top of a resistance band at 612 but stalls out for now shy of congestion in the 619/622 area. Individual issues KLAC (46.34) and AMAT (50.71) have bolted higher but are now facing strong resistance at the top of their 3 month range tops (and the yearly high) at 47.81/48.68 and 52.40/53.93, respectively. Given extensive surge over last two weeks, may have difficulty sustaining a run to and through these barriers on initial attempts.
