Was in an airport lounge last night and heard a non-too-discreet EMC salesman talking loudly on the phone with someone back at the office. Seems that Gartner is telling its clients to demand 50% discounts on storage, but the major players are only willing to give 20-30%, if that.

UF, I hope you closed out your covered calls yesterday, as I did.

<<So, I'll ask again what companies will profit from the rethinking of manufacturers model as they try to correct the obvious short comings that have been exposed during this economic slow down? >>
ECMs like JBL, FLEX, SLR, CLS, SANM, SCI to name the biggest and best positioned for the volume of work to come. Once these inventory problems are resolved (whenever that is!), they should fly, both with new and holdover work. It would appear that the market has already discounted the problems of the next couple of quarters by the way they are up today.

What I was wondering about is how to profit from what is an obvious short coming that we are seeing in many companies that operate in a economy where the lag time has shorten or momentum can be changed in nearly real time.

Excellent notion. Thanks.
