Kap et al,

Where is Yaacov? He was predicting that the worm would turn after 4/16. I wonder if he had some evidence that the Fed would cut this week?

Time will tell, of course, whether or not we've actually turned a corner.

CHris

I also sold 1500 AMD April covered call contracts at the strike price around $22.50 for an average of around $2.20. So the expiration above $24.70 will cost me some pretty penny plus tax. :-(

YEEEOWCH! That's why I haven't ever been brave enough to play with puts or calls... I've got a "real job" and can't take the time to monitor the market closely enough to not loose my blessed shirt... I sold some dot.com at a loss this year to cover last year's tax bill... damn Alternative Minimum Tax... of course, that will give me a loss this year I can write off or use to offset potential gains...

On the good side, it looks like there's been a bill introduced to eliminate the AMT retroactive to 1/1/00, H.R. 1487. Write your representative!!!

Kap, you could always try rolling them. Maybe you'll get a chance to buy them back (relatively) cheap, plus you'll be able to defer the taxes. But I suppose you know that already.
