true. this WAS a surprise. the continued ad hoc policy of the Fed also helps to increase the ECB's credibility...but then again the ECB doesn't have to combat one potential crisis after another.

of course the official propaganda spin is exactly the opposite...the Fed is portrayed as "proactive" and the ECB as "sitting on its hands". i know which CB i trust more with looking after its currency...
