I can easily do it without insulting you.

Well, I can provide an answer without insulting you. That's easy. Whether I can let the rest of the post go without an insult, well, that may be harder, but I'll try.

I am quite sure I never asked you to prove that God doesn't exist because I have never asked that of anybody.

Why would I ask someone to prove something I know to be false? Doesn't make sense.

And as a logician, I also know it is virtually impossible to prove a negative. It would be a game to ask that, and I don't play games over things that are important to people.

If I had posted anything, it would have been something like "I can't prove to your satisfaction that God exists, and you can't prove to my satisfaction that he/she/it doesn't." But I don't think I even posted that to you.

I don't deny that many other people may have asked you to prove that God, or other things, don't or didn't exist. But not me. I have enough trouble being responsible for what I do post. I'm certainly not going to allow myself to be held responsible for what I don't.

I didn't call you a liar, and I only called Steven one because he claimed that he was genuinely looking for proof when it became clear that he would never accept anything said over SI as proof, but was keeping playing a game. I consider that dishonest. Maybe the term liar was strong, but dishonest wouldn't be. Which I consider sad, because I have otherwise always respected him.

I think I made it without insulting you. I tried. Hope you don't find any insults lurking within -- if so, they are from the unconscious, not the conscious.

In some ways, the new X would be a lot nicer to have around, but in another way, we NEED Nixons to kick around, and the X persona made SUCH a good Nixon.
