True enough - actually, I'm pretty sure that some at least of the pre-Christian Emperors were accorded divine or semi-divine status, generally but I think not always after their deaths. Guess where I stand on that? <g>

I don't reject ALL proofs. I look at the proposition (that there was a Roman Empire, that JC was a general and later leader in it, etc), assess what I know of the claims, and see no reason to reject it and plenty to believe it.
If it was claimed that it was run by a God, I'd be doubtful.

Equally, I can accept the existence of Queen Elizabeth II. I believe she exists. I don't believe that her paternal ancestor was Lug the sun-god (I think that's the nominal attribution...).
I believe that Charles I existed: I don't believe he had had the Divine Right granting him healing powers: I do believe that he believed that...

I'll leave the philosophy arguments on reality and proof to Solon and Neo, though, if you don't mind... not my speciality.
