"Normally on a day like today the Niceguys of the world would be going crazy posting about how the stock is up 20% and is heading to the moon...."

Other than possibly NG, everyone is pretty much waiting for the earnings announcement. Yeah, you do see a fair amount of analysis of Intel's results and some bemusement over $0.07 a share and profits down at least 60% resulting in a $5 pop to Intel's stock price. But nutty behavior always draws comments...

Cory,

"This has become the all obsessed with Intel all the time thread."

LOL! Don't you think that this is a little exaggerated...? ;-)

Well, I think that the reason why I and maybe some others here as well are FEARING Intel is the memory of the time when Intel cut the Celeron prices like crazy and almost drove AMD out of the business. That move had also quite a negative impact on Pentium II/III sales because in the following many people prefered the ultra cheap Celeron (which was almost as powerful).

So Intel lost quite a bit of money, too. But I believe that this was intentionally. I think that Intel just wanted to crush AMD. If AMD had not had the Athlon ready JUST IN TIME it would be out of the CPU business by now - because of Intel's Celeron prices.

So for me Intel is not only an ordinary, strong competitor but also an extremely dangerous company which would destroy AMD as soon as it could. Therefore I DO fear Intel and I cannot celebrate it when Intel is too successful.

My very personal opinion only.

Kind regards,
Peter
