Re: "Probably most people logged on at their regular time or when they wanted to make a trade, found their access blocked, clicked all the little buttons and "signed" the document, and went about their business after those lost minutes having signed under duress a contract with a third party in a foreign country."

HeHe, *NO* I didn't sign that agreement; but like you, I am mad at TDWaterhouse. I spent about half an hour with 2 people at TDW, but to no avail. Now, I have one question and one comment.

question: I wonder, looking at the posts here, if that agreement is required only of canadian investors. If so, why would TDW act this way only for canadian investors?

comment: Personally, I have decided to seek a new broker. If TDW doesn't respect me in this way, I wont wait for more evidence of their attitude. Right now, I'm looking at Schwab Canada. I will find out soon if, as Parker says, this is standard stuff. Maybe, as a side effect, I will get a better service...

Mike.
