Mephisto, >On one of the news threads, I saw that Intel expected 20% growth in chips. Do you know if
Intel made the announcement?. Or is this growth rate predicted by the analysts?

I didn't see any gross percentage predictions like that from Intel themselves, and I listened to the whole CC, plus saw Andy Bryant on 2 different business shows. What Intel did say is that they expected seasonal kinds of trends for the rest of the year. That means the second quarter is kind of ho hum, but the second half is looking strong. Another key item was that Intel said they saw a definite pickup in March in their microprocessor and related products. I think that if the CC had been a month ago, it would have been pretty gloomy.

Hi Mephisto, RE: "20% chip growth"

In the CC, I heard Intel say India and China were experiencing double-digit growth in Q1 and that China was the largest consumer of PCs.
