"...``Over all, moderate drinking did not appear to be a harmful factor in this study but was, instead, arguably beneficial,'' because it was linked to a lower risk of dying, said the researchers.

The two studies will appear in tomorrow's Journal of the American Medical Association.

In the first study, about two of every 100 daily drinkers died annually, compared with three deaths for every 100 drinkers who had fewer than seven drinks a week and six of every 100 nondrinkers, according to researchers from the Boston medical center. ..."

With a three to one reduction in mortality, alcohol bottlers are going to have to be allowed to place a health benefit label on their products. -g-

Maybe the study has a fault in that the subjects who drink and die may be too drunk to properly record their deaths. -g-
