Ken, I wish it was a 10-20KW unit,,but it is only 1.8kw..Being 25 years old(and downwind as opposed to upwind with a tail) it is a bit larger than a modern machine,,but actually not by much..The rotor has a diameter of 13 ft...When you get up into 10kw, rotors are 20-30 ft..the bigger the rotor the more energy you get out of the unit..IMO, the perfect unit for a homeowner would be in the 5kw range..I have a buddy who is totally solar, only 1000watts but he gets by just fine..they aren't even hooked up to the grid..Jim is an old hippy, convinced the gov and power companies are out to get him..<g>..The system supplys enough power(with batteries) to run washer/dryer/fridge, etc.DD
here is a 10KW unit..a cadillac..$20K (doesn't include batteries<lol>)
