I agree the economy needed a rate cut...last Nov would have been nice. ;-) All that consumer debt could make a recession long and painful. :-((( FWIW I also agree about a trading range being the most likely future for the markets. However, certain carefully selected stocks could do better than a trading range, and others will continue their journey towards bankruptcy court, so life should stay interesting.

Will not the lower interest rates increase capital spending due to the reduced cost to borrow?
