I'm not into conspiracy theories either. There are times, tho, when seeming competitors may find it profitable to act in concert. They can learn this by simply doing it over and over without consultation of any sort. They can come to rely on each other for certain predictable actions. I think this can happen with airline fares, gasoline pricing at the pump, and in the market - especially where markets are thin.
