Puzzler... I can open a DOS window and type MODE CO80 and nothing happens because CO80 is my default mode. If I type MODE CO40, my window changes size and I get really big characters, 40 per line. If I type MODE MONO, I get back my 80 character lines, and the window returns to its normal, expected size and shape, but lose my colour. All this inside a DOS window. Does it make any difference how you check the boxes in Properties, Program tab, Advanced button? I have the Suggest DOS box checked. Cheers, PW.
